Condition assessment. Clarity for the right decision.

We assess every car before starting a restoration. You can also order the assessment as a standalone service to get a clear picture of your car's condition and your options.

Condition assessment. Clarity for the right decision.

A condition assessment is the first required step before every restoration we undertake. We clarify your goals, examine the car's technical condition and identify the work required. We then prepare cost and time estimates and decide together on the next step.

You can order it as a standalone service. The assessment does not commit you to a restoration. If the planned restoration is not worthwhile given the car's condition, your goals or the available budget, we tell you honestly.

Frequently Asked Questions

By carrying out a condition survey, we can estimate the cost of the complete restoration with significantly greater accuracy. This means that you will have a clear picture of what work and expenditure you can expect from the very beginning.

Without it, there is a much greater risk that the preliminary estimate will be significantly different from the final cost.

A condition assessment helps you avoid unexpected costs and make informed decisions before starting the project.

Every car goes through a detailed, predefined inspection process. The assessment is more than a visual inspection: where necessary, we supplement it with instrumented measurements, operational tests and targeted checks.

We examine the condition of the body and chassis, corrosion, the quality of previous repairs and any structural damage. We inspect the suspension, braking system and steering, paying particular attention to wear, play, bushes and other abnormalities. We check the engine, gearbox and drivetrain for leaks, abnormal noises and operating problems. We examine the electrical system, wiring, switches and electrical consumers, as well as the condition of the interior, dashboard, seats and other controls. We also check the vehicle documentation and identifiers, such as the chassis number, engine number and consistency of the documents.

Two of our restorers carry out the inspection in 8 hours (one working day). Sourcing the required parts takes approximately 1 working day, and preparing the quotation takes approximately 0.5 working day.

The result is more than a list of faults. It provides a basis for deciding: it clearly shows the car’s actual technical condition, the work required, the expected costs and whether your intended goal is realistically achievable.

A detailed PDF report containing:

  • the condition of the car point by point,
  • Defects and deficiencies found, supported by pictures
  • Parts list: parts to replace or missing parts
  • and a preliminary estimate of the expected cost of the refurbishment.
  • we will try to offer you several refurbishment options that best suit your needs

  • If you have just bought a classic car
  • If you want to restore your oldtimer but don't know how much it would cost
  • If you are unsure about the actual condition of the car

The service fee is 225 000 Ft including VAT, equivalent to 625 EUR at 360 Ft/EUR. The fee includes a detailed inspection of the car, identification of the necessary repair or restoration work, the parts list, documentation and cost estimate. Two of our restorers carry out the inspection in 8 hours (one working day). Sourcing the required parts takes approximately 1 working day, and preparing the quotation takes approximately 0.5 working day.

If you bring your car to the assessment in person, we show you our workshop, introduce you to the way we work and give you an insight into our current projects.

If you cannot bring your car to our workshop, our transport partner can help with collection and return, currently at 350 Ft/km. If you would like to use this service, simply let us know and we will arrange the transport.

After the assessment, we decide together which option to take. With a picture of the work required, expected cost and time, you can choose a restoration, a specific technical job or to postpone the project. The assessment has value on its own: you understand your car and the next step more clearly.
